Problem

Murray Arts, as a community-focused nonprofit, needed a digital presence that matched its vision of being the central hub for arts and culture across the Border and surrounding regions. With rebranding efforts already underway, their existing website no longer reflected their mission or engaged their audience in meaningful ways. Instead of inspiring connection and participation, the site felt more like a static noticeboard than a vibrant cultural platform.

Our assessment identified several key challenges:

  • The design lacked vibrancy, making events, programs, and resources feel underwhelming rather than inspiring.
  • Important sections like News or Programs were hard to find, making it difficult for visitors to explore content, sign up for newsletters, or engage with events.
  • Minimal calls-to-action and a lack of interactive features (such as submission forms or event filters) limited opportunities for community involvement.
  • The site did not clearly communicate Murray Arts’ regional identity or reflect its deep ties with Indigenous communities and creative programs, diluting its mission and recognition.

Solution

To support Murray Arts’ mission of being a connector between creatives and their community, we redesigned their website from the ground up. The goal was to create a digital platform that not only looked vibrant and professional but also functioned as a central hub for programs, events, and community engagement.

Here’s how we transformed their online presence:

Our assessment identified several key challenges:

  • Rich imagery and diverse visuals make the site feel dynamic, community-driven, and reflective of Murray Arts’ wide programming.
  • A clear, intuitive menu and easy-to-browse event listings help users quickly find the information they need.
  • Prominent acknowledgement of country and regional mapping highlights cultural respect and reinforces Murray Arts’ role as a connector.
  • Dedicated sections showcase services, programs, and resources, making Murray Arts a trusted hub for creatives.
  • Clear contact details and an accessible design build trust while inviting users to explore and engage.

Results

More than just an information hub, the redesigned Murray Arts website has transformed into a vibrant and user-friendly platform that celebrates creativity, strengthens community ties, and highlights the organisation’s role as a regional connector. Every feature was built with purpose, ensuring the site supports Murray Arts’ mission and empowers local creatives.

Here’s what stands out:

  • Event and news pages now showcase visuals that reflect the energy and diversity of the community.
  • A clear menu structure and logical content paths make it easy for users to find exactly what they’re looking for.
  • Prominent recognition of country and regional boundaries strengthens cultural respect and relevance.
  • Key initiatives, support services, and creative opportunities are highlighted to reinforce Murray Arts’ role as a connector.
  • Submission forms and directory listings invite ongoing participation, keeping the site dynamic and community-driven.

The new Murray Arts website has become a strategic tool that amplifies the organisation’s role as an advocate and supporter of the region’s creative community. By combining thoughtful design, seamless functionality, and strong cultural acknowledgment, the site now provides a vibrant space where artists, communities, and opportunities come together.

This transformation ensures Murray Arts has a lasting platform to showcase programs, foster collaboration, and strengthen visibility across the Border and surrounding regions. It’s a digital presence that reflects the heart of their mission and supports their growth well into the future.
